Computer Based Training - VideoCBT - FULL screen video - Questions & Competency Assessment

AVDP has developed FULL screen video Computer Based Training Modules with multiple-choice questions, and competency assessment. This was the result of Training Managers turning to AVDP to provide cost-effective and more interesting ways of delivering their Computer Based Training - CBT courses. The Training Managers were receiving complaints of boredom from trainees working through AVDP’s competitors conventional CBT packages with screen after screen of text, pictures, graphics etc. The feedback from the trainees was that they were finding the conventional CBT delivery approach very boring, and instead they wanted full screen video on their PC’s.
AVDP have now rolled out the new “VideoCBT” modules with production for clients and production of new CBT versions of ‘Generic Titles’.

Titles available in NEW Full Screen VideoCBT are shown on the information page corresponding to each ‘Title’ in ‘Off the Shelf’ Training Titles section :

‘Permit-to-Work’ VideoCBT - FULL screen video - Questions & Competency Assessment produced in English & Portuguese (Brazilian) languages for major International Offshore Support Shipping Company with land based facilities world-wide

After evaluating various CBT & e-learning options from various companies, the contract was awarded to AVDP to ‘personalise’ our generic ‘Title’ “Principles & Operation of Permit-to-Work” in English & Portuguese languages to suit their Permit-to-Work procedures. Now in full use onboard all their ships and at land base sites world-wide, all employees and contractors are required to work through the Permit-to-Work VideoCBT modules on-site. On completion of the questions module a pass mark of 75% is required before being permitted to carry out any work involving the issue of a work permit. Depending on the percentage ‘pass’ mark achieved, a ‘Pass’ or ‘Fail’ Certificate is automatically printed and a ‘log’ file with a detailed analysis of their answers and percentage achieved is automatically e-mailed to training centres in Stavanger and Aberdeen for competency assessment purposes.

The DVD was produced in English and Portuguese languages with Menus for language selection and the various subjects covered on the DVD such as HSE Policy - Vessel Familiarisation - Safety on Deck - Supply Duties - Anchor Handling. AVDP cameras accompanied one of the Company’s anchor handling vessels on a 5 day operation of re-locating a semi - submersible drilling rig to a new drilling location. Maritime Training - ‘Contractor’s Safety Video’ for Norwegian Shipping Company

AVDP has been commissioned to produce a Safety video to address a specific problem of ensuring all contractor’s going onboard vessels while in port to carry out repair and maintenance work are fully conversant with all safety and emergency procedures, escape routes etc. This was as a result of a contractor losing his life in a fire inboard one of the vessels, and all the subsequent legal ramifications. Now every contractor has to receive the 6 minute safety video briefing before being allowed to enter work areas (engine room etc.) and to carry out any work on the vessels. This safety video has also been produced in English and Portuguese languages for use primarily in UK, Norwegian and Brazilian waters.
